The rooms at Shrine Inn are absolutely amazing! I love that every room has a balcony with a breathtaking view of the mountains. The seating area is so cozy and perfect for unwinding after a long day of biking. Plus, the free WiFi is a huge bonus for staying connected with friends and family.
Personally, I felt that the shared bathroom with a shower was a little inconvenient. But hey, that's just my opinion and I understand that others might still find it perfectly fine.

Stayed at Shrine with free parking, cozy lounge, and terrace. Enjoyed the daily breakfast options, whether it was Asian, continental, or à la carte. Close to Sri Dalada Maligawa and cricket stadium. Perfect base to explore Kandy, at a reasonable price.
Oh, did I forget to mention the "charming" monkey's visit on the balcony? So delightful.

the owners, a friendly elderly couple, made me feel welcome and were always available to assist. the breakfast they served was tasty and satisfying, and I especially enjoyed the proper English tea. the location of the inn was perfect - situated in a quiet and peaceful area, yet just a short 15-minute walk from the town. the surrounding attractions, such as the temple, lake, and forest, were all within easy reach. the room was basic but clean, with all the necessary amenities including towels, a fan, and a mosquito net. the balcony provided a great view, and the shower had amazing hot water with great water pressure. it was excellent value for the money spent. Cons: Nothing to mention 🙌.
